Ms. Michelle moved to Hampton Roads after leading a Montessori school in Pennsylvania, where she spent 19 years. She has also been a professor at the collegiate level, taught for Department of Defense Dependent Schools while stationed in Panama, taught public school, and taught at Eden Institute, a school for students with autism.
Ms. Michelle is both a trustee and an executive commissioner for the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, an independent Accreditation Agency assessing and certifying schools in the United States and internationally. She served on the Executive Board of the Children’s Aid Society, was a founding member of the Annual Franklin County Women’s Conference, and the Chair of the Steering Committee of the Franklin County Leadership Program.
As an avid volunteer for other non-profits. she has spent many years assisting at events benefitting Children’s Miracle Network for Hershey’s Pediatric Hospital, Women in Need, and the United Way. Ms. Michelle has also presented for the American Montessori Society at their National Conference and through a webinar on their website.
In her spare time, she enjoys being active in the outdoors, advancing her education, and spending time with her family.
Ms. Janet has been with HRIMS since 2012 as our Office Manager. She is the first to greet everyone in the morning, always with a smile. She says the smile is because she is fortunate to work with the children who attend HRIMS.
Ms. Janet was born in Caribou, Maine and then moved to Newport News, Virginia. She’s been married since 1990 to Duane and has a son, Kyle, daughter-in-law, Heidi, and a handsome grandson, Decker.
Ms. Janet is an avid golfer and baker. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, outdoor activities, traveling, crafts, and baking.
Ms. Lindsey brings to Hampton Roads International Montessori School over seventeen years of non-profit financial and operations management experience. She holds a degree from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville with an emphasis in business and finance.
Ms. Lindsey has worked with several non-profits throughout the Hampton Roads area. As a native resident of Newport News, she credits working within the community as one of her greatest passions. She has been with HRIMS since November of 2015.
Currently, Ms. Lindsey resides with her family in Smithfield, Virginia, where she enjoys spending her time with her significant other, Bobby, and their three children.
